This famous castle, located in Gunma, was featured in several Japanese films and dramas, including “Atashinchi no Danshi”.
Lockheart Castle is a bit of European history in Japan. The castle was originally built from Scotland on the outskirts of Edinburgh in 1829. However, in 1988 the castle was transported from Scotland to Japan via the Trans-Siberian Railway.
In 1993, Lockheart became the first European castle to be restored in Japan.
At the premise of the castle, known as Marble Village, there are attractions such as the World Santa Museum, Lover’s Hill, the Stone Academy / Museum, the Teddy Bear Museum and a Gallery of Wedding Dresses, featuring dresses from around the world.
Because many attractions are to be seen as love or marriage, the place is the only one in the northern area of the Kanto region known as the “sacred ground of lovers”
There are shops and a pleasant restaurant on site to enjoy popular European dishes.
