A 43-year-old Filipino man who was denied entry into Japan after arriving at Narita Airport on Monday managed to escape from two security guards and flee.

According to the Immigration Bureau, the man arrived at around 6:30 a.m. aboard a Jetstar Japan flight from Manila. Fuji TV reported that at the immigration counter of Terminal 3, the man was evasive about the purpose of his visit or where he was staying in Japan.

The man was then denied entry and ordered to be taken to a holding room for deportation back to Manila.

At around 10:30 a.m., two security guards took him by car to the holding room in Terminal 2. When one of the guards got out of the car with the Filipino, he managed to escape and fled into the terminal.

A search of the terminal turned up no clues as to the man’s whereabouts and he remained at large on Tuesday.

The man was wearing a white shirt and had a rucksack when he escaped, airport police said.
